Contract Vote Results:
The best and final offer dated July 25th, 2008 was approved by the membership by a 83% to 17% margin.
The new contract is effective August 1st, 2008 and expires July 31st, 2010.

Payroll Arbitration: Update:
ATU Local 1005 wins payroll arbitration ! We received the arbitration answer and it states the grievance is sustained and that all payroll duties are to be restored to the ATU bargaining unit.
Update #1: The Metropolitan Council has decided not to honor the payroll arbitration award. They have chosen to file papers in court to overturn the neutral arbitrators award. We clearly are not dealing with honorable people. This act of defiance certainly opens a new era in our relationship. So stay tuned we will update you as things progress.
Update #2: ATU 1005 and AFSCME 668 met with the Metropolitan Council on Tuesday morning 6/10/08 in an effort to resolve the payroll situation. We were unable to reach any agreements. No further meetings have been scheduled.
